Other innovations we love

‘Innovation’ is a very important word at The Magic Molecule Co. headquarters.

Our research and development team are constantly striving to innovate, to make better and more sustainable products to improve so many aspects of our green spaces.

We’re constantly on the look-out for other innovators with similar values, and often swap what we find in the office, so we’re sharing with you today. Other than biostimulants, these are what we’re talking about at the moment.

For Peat’s Sake!

This company has found a renewable and eco-friendly alternative to compost containing peat. They have developed blocks of coir, made from a waste product from coconuts, for a low environmental footprint growing medium. By finding an alternative growing medium to peat, they are helping reduce the demand for this valuable resource which is a natural habitat for many species, and a considerable store for CO2.

Sky Planter

A new way to display your houseplants, especially if you’re short on surface space like a lot of us! This planter is made from upcycled plastic, and is designed to hang from the ceiling, giving the impression of an upside-down pot plant. A different way to add more houseplants to your collection.

Briiv

We all know that many of our popular houseplants have air purifying qualities. This product has taken that natural ability and supercharged it with natural filters and materials, including a plant-based plastic. Improves the air quality in your home. We like plants, and personally don’t mind the necessary plant care, but this is an alternative focusing on improving air quality in our homes.

Solar Panels

Obviously solar panels are not a new thing, but constant technological improvements are making these ever easier to incorporate renewable energy into our homes and gardens. The team have some solar powered lights in their gardens that were perfect for summer nights, and with so many designs now available it’s an instant way to add something to your garden space.

Green Power Evolution Thermal Weeder

With precise application a weed is quickly destroyed using a thermal shock, perfect for patios. The team thought this was a fantastic way to control weeds without the need for aggressive chemicals. This is obviously a big plus for us and aligns perfectly with our sustainable ethos and wish to protect the biodiversity in our gardens.

Rewilding Britain

Finally, we mentioned this organisation in a previous blog post, but it’s worth highlighting it again. This organisation’s innovative thinking and holistic approach to helping nature recover, whilst also considering people’s place in that future, is a really hopeful and positive project that we’re enjoying following and contributing to.

What are the innovations you’re loving in the garden?
